Your oral health is extremely important to your body’s wellbeing, and a beautiful smile is a wonderful asset at any age.

Invisalign is an effective alternative to braces, allowing patients to improve their smile without uncomfortable metal in their mouth! Using a series of clear aligners, you can achieve straighter teeth. Here’s what to expect when you choose to improve your smile with Invisalign.

Initial Consultation

The initial consultation is the first step to improving your teeth. Using 3D computer imaging, your dentist will assess the current position of your teeth and give you a preview of what your teeth will look like after treatment. The Invisalign treatment can correct an overbite, underbite, crossbite, overcrowding, gaps in the teeth, and misalignments. Depending on your specific concerns and the extent, a unique plan for treatment will be developed for you and an estimated cost will be given.

The Treatment Process

The treatment process requires you to wear a set of aligners, each one correcting your teeth a little more at a time. Each aligner will be worn for about two weeks before being replaced. This process continues until the teeth have been straightened and completely corrected. It is important to wear the aligners as often as possible, only taking them out to eat, drink, or brush your teeth. Your progress will be addressed every six weeks to make sure your teeth are on the right track.

The Results

After your treatment process, you can enjoy improved teeth and a smile you’ll feel confident showing! Although Invisalign is meant to permanently straighten your teeth, there are some things you’ll need to do to ensure your teeth shift as little as possible after treatment. This typically includes wearing a retainer while you sleep to keep your teeth in place. Many patients seek treatment from Invisalign when they fail to wear their retainers after braces. You won’t want to let the same mistake happen again! Talk to your dentist about proper retainer wear and maintenance.
